Classic Video Games That I Miss Playing

As someone who has grown up with video games, there are a few classics that I simply miss playing. These games hold a special place in my heart, evoking memories of joy, adventure, and camaraderie. In this article, I will share with you a few of my favorite games that I wish I could still play today.

The OG Luigi's Mansion on GameCube

One game that stands out is The OG Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube. I had a copy for a while, but at some point, it must have either been lost or taken by my brother when he moved, as he did with all his Xbox One games. While I currently own the 3DS version, it just doesn’t capture the same magic. The game’s puzzles and exploration elements were a significant part of the experience, and I wish I could relive them once more.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Another game that brings fond memories is Rise of the Tomb Raider. This action-adventure game was developed by Crystal Dynamics and is the sequel to the 2013 game Tomb Raider, making it the eleventh entry in the Tomb Raider series. It follows the legendary Lara Croft as she explores Siberia in search of the legendary city of Kitezh. Along the way, Lara must confront enemies and battle the paramilitary organization Trinity for the city’s promise of immortality. The game’s immersive environment and challenging puzzles make it a standout title in the series.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is available for purchase on GoogleTune.

Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssey

A text adventure game that I wish I could play in its original form is Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssey. This game, released on the PlayStation 1, follows the story of Abe, an innocent Mudokan who attempts to save his kind from the nefarious Rupture Farms. The company intends to turn the Mudokan workers into a snack, so they decide to exploit this situation. This game is filled with adventure, discovery, and plenty of secrets to uncover. It’s an all-around fun game with great mechanics. The New N’ Tasty! remastered version for the PS4 is also available and is worth checking out if you haven’t played it yet.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga

I have fond memories of playing Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga with my cousins. It was a collaborative effort where we would often play for hours at a time, striving to reach 100% completion in the game. Sadly, the PC version just doesn’t feel the same. We never managed to beat the Lego City level, but that was part of the fun. I still remember the rush of excitement as we worked together to solve puzzles and complete missions in this fantastic galaxy.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

One of the multiplayer games that I wish I could play again is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. For a while, I enjoyed playing the multiplayer on this platform, but nowadays, it’s been hacked to the point where it’s almost unbearable. The game’s simplicity and chaotic fun with friends are what I miss the most. While the current series like Infinite Warfare WWII and Black Ops 4 offer different experiences, Black Ops 2 holds a special place in my heart. For me, Modern Warfare was a revival of my interest in the series, with its fast-paced gunplay and emphasis on precision aim.

Whether it’s Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, or an old GameCube classic like The OG Luigi's Mansion, there are plenty of games that I miss replaying. These games represent a time when gaming was more about the experience and the memories it created rather than constant online play.
