Experiencing Pleasure in Drive: Modern Cars for Long Commutes

Driving to work and back can be a mundane routine, especially over long distances. But what if you could find a car that turns this daily chore into an enjoyable experience? Currently, I own a Citro?n Berlingo Multispace that serves me well, being now ten years old and covering about 107,000 miles. This journey began in 1976 with a Citro?n 2CV, setting a pattern of smaller Citro?n ownership. The Berlingo Multispace is by far the largest vehicle I have ever owned, and it was a pleasure to drive during my daily 15-mile commute to work from Nottingham to Derby and back.

This journey proved challenging, but with the Berlingo's reliability, we managed to complete it without issues, even in poor weather conditions.

Beyond commuting, this car has proven versatile for holidays. Accommodating luggage and other items, it is an ideal choice for a week-long caravan holiday to the Lincolnshire coast. Moreover, the car’s comfort makes the journey feel shorter, with one memorable trip to Norfolk feeling like it took the time of a drive to a nearby city.

Current Situation and Future Insights

With the Berlingo Multispace having performed admirably over the years, I have no plans to replace it anytime soon. If a replacement is necessary, I would consider another Citro?n Berlingo Multispace, though with the diesel engines being phased out, a petrol engine variant would likely be preferred.
