Reflecting on 10 Years Ago: How Ive Grown and Learned

Reflections on My Journey Over the Past 10 Years

As I look back over the past decade, I am struck by the changes both in my career and personal life. Ten years less than today marks a significant turning point in my journey, from my early years as a child prodigy to my current status as a successful entrepreneur in the making.

A Childhood of Rapid Learning and Prodigious Talent

When I was just five years old, my journey was just beginning. I was fully immersed in a world of learning and achievement. At the tender age of five, I was not only fluent in several languages but also recognized for my exceptional talents. I was placed in a Gifted and Talented (GT) program because of my remarkable ability to recite the English alphabet backward while my peers were still mastering the basics.

I remember performing in a talent show at the age of five, singing a song in a cute white gown in front of a couple of hundred people. My participation in gymnastics also showcased my remarkable abilities, as I was placed in an advanced class for doing activities like back bends that other kids my age could barely achieve.

Building a Strong Foundation for Future Growth

My early success laid the foundation for future growth. Despite having forgotten the Japanese alphabet, I have since learned a few sentences, which is impressive given the muscle memory aspect of sign language. My knowledge of English and Spanish has expanded over the years, and I consider myself a writer with top-tier skills, having achieved an average score of 94 or higher in Pre-AP English and even publishing some works on Amazon Kindle.

My skills and confidence have continued to develop. I was the top cadet in my year at NJROTC and now in AJROTC, where I am known for my leadership and assertiveness. The ability to show my talents and take on challenges has not only shaped my character but also prepared me for the path ahead.

Transitioning to a New Career Path

After a few months of retirement, I decided to leverage my skills and experience to start my own business. This transition was not an easy one, but the math was simple: ten years ago, I was living a life of youthful energy and innocence, while now, with a decade of experience under my belt, I am poised to embark on a new journey.

The journey from factory automation to facilities management reflects a desire to save wear and tear on my body while also exploring new opportunities. My experiences have equipped me with a unique perspective and set of skills that will undoubtedly be invaluable in my new venture.

The Road Ahead

If there is one thing I can say with confidence, it is that I was a star child, a fact that has stayed with me as I have grown and evolved. I may not be the same five-year-old who could recite the alphabet backward, but the essence of that confidence and the lessons learned have informed my journey in profound ways.

As I stand on the threshold of a new chapter, I am both excited and humbled. I am ready to face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and I know that my past achievements will continue to inspire and guide me.
