Should You Buy a BlackBerry Classic?
If the majority of your work revolves around texting, emails, and productivity then yes, the BlackBerry Q20 is a very good option. However, in today's world, we are being provided with a high level of comfort and services by technology. Examples such as Swiggy, Uber, and Labaig Basket may not provide the level of comfort that you are used to. In short, if you are aBB design lover and have lots of productive tasks to handle, the BlackBerry Classic could be the perfect device for you.
A Unique Device with Physical Buttons
The BlackBerry Classic is the only BB10 device to actually have physical buttons. If you are a long-time BlackBerry user, this device offers an authentic and enjoyable experience. Although I haven't personally owned one, I have played with several of them and have found it to be an excellent device.
In 2017, the device was still in prime condition. The only potential drawback would be the lack of WhatsApp support, which will be discontinued. However, there is always the Android version, and I firmly believe that .bar developers will continue to create other versions.
Perfect for Communication and Multitasking
If you are not a fan of social media but prefer reliable communication, the BlackBerry Classic might be a better device for you. It is the only operating system that truly understands the concept of multitasking. The BlackBerry Classic offers seamless and efficient multitasking, which can greatly enhance your productivity.
It's a shame that John Chen and his team did not push further with BB10, a system that was capable of handling tasks with ease and efficiency.
Alternative Options
While considering the BlackBerry Classic, you might want to look into other devices such as the Priv DTEK50, DTEK60, and KEYone.
If you need to use app functionalities that are not supported by the BlackBerry Classic, such as WhatsApp, you will need to sideload the app. The same applies to other Android-based applications that you might want to run on the BlackBerry Classic.
Dependencies and Considerations
The use of BlackBerry devices running on BB OS 10 depends on your needs. If you require a device that can handle the following tasks without any hiccups:
Phone calls and messages Email Browsing the internetthen this device is ideal. However, considering today's requirements where you might need to book a cab, watch videos, or engage in light entertainment like playing games, it would be advisable to consider buying the KeyOne, which will soon be available globally.
If you feel that this device is too expensive, you might consider waiting for a while, as I predict that the price will eventually suffer a decline, similar to other BlackBerry devices.
Edit 1: As expected, the price of the KeyOne has been reduced to $224.99 on eBay and will only work with T-mobile and ATT in the US. For more details, check the link below.
